Website accessibility checker
Paste your store address. In a few minutes you get every accessibility finding on the pages shoppers use, what it stops them doing, and the exact change that fixes it.
What the check covers
- WCAG 2.2 AA checks with the axe-core engine on your live pages — images without descriptions, low contrast, unlabeled form fields, missing headings, keyboard traps, focus that disappears.
- The product pages, collections and cart a shopper actually uses, on desktop and phone layouts, not just the home page.
- Search and speed findings alongside: titles and descriptions search engines read, images that load late or heavy.
- A specific fix for every finding, written for the theme you use — and for Shopify stores, the fix applied in your theme with your approval, the original saved first.

- In the United States, website accessibility suits are on track for about 6,100 filings in 2026 (UsableNet midyear report); roughly four in five name e-commerce sites, and in March 2026 half of the platform-identified defendants ran Shopify (EcomBack).
- The European Accessibility Act has applied to online shops since 28 June 2025; the UK Equality Act, Canada’s AODA and Australia’s DDA all reach a store’s website.
- Courts and regulators look at what a screen-reader user can actually do — add a product to the cart, fill the checkout form — which is what an automated check measures first.
What you get
- A score per area and the list of findings grouped by cause, so "one faint footer link on 37 pages" is one row and one change.
- A PDF report you can hand to a developer or an agency, with the exact element and page for each finding.
- On Shopify: install the app to apply the fixes — the free plan includes 3 scans a month and 3 fixes every 30 days, no card.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- No tool can confirm full conformance: some criteria need a person, such as whether a description says what an image means. Automated checks find the largest, most common share of failures reliably and repeatably, and that is where remediation starts. Our report says which findings a person should still review.
- Yes. The check runs on any public store URL. The one-click fixes in your theme are for Shopify stores through the AccessComply app; on other platforms you get the same findings and the specific change to make.
- It does not make legal determinations, and it cannot scan pages behind a password or a login. For a password-protected Shopify store, the app scans with your stored password from inside the store.
- A widget adds a toolbar on top of the page; the code underneath stays the same. The checker reports the code, and the app changes the code in your theme with your approval. In April 2025 the FTC ordered one overlay vendor to pay $1 million over claims its widget made sites compliant.
