For Shopify stores with an ADA letter or lawsuit

Fix your store’s accessibility issues today, in your theme code.

Install AccessComply, start the free trial and press one button. The app writes the fixes into your theme the same day, saves the originals first, checks every page again and emails you a dated record of every fix to give your lawyer. Not a widget. Not legal advice.

See what is on your store first. Free, no signup, about three minutes:

Free, no signup. Up to 10 pages, and most scans take 2 to 5 minutes.

Before anything else

Three things to do this week.

Whoever fixes the site, these come first.

  1. Put the deadline in your calendar and call a lawyer

A federal complaint usually has to be answered within 21 days of service, and a demand letter sets its own date. We are not lawyers and nothing here is legal advice. Several firms defend these cases on flat fees.

  2. Save how your store looks today

Take screenshots of the pages the letter names and duplicate your theme (Online Store, Themes, Duplicate). You will want the before and after.

  3. Find out what actually fails

The complaints usually list the same things: images with no description, text too faint to read, buttons and links with no name, form fields with no label, and parts of the page a keyboard cannot reach. A free scan shows which of those your store has, page by page.

Shield: $79 a month after a 14 day free trial

What it does, and what it does not.

Both lists matter before you pay, so here they are side by side.

Included

  • The issues on your report the app can fix in your theme code: button and link names, form labels, keyboard focus, skip links, headings, image descriptions and much of the faint text
  • Written the same day you press the button, after a scan of your whole store
  • Your originals are saved first, every page is checked again afterwards, and any fix can be undone from the app’s Home page
  • A dated record of every fix, emailed to you when the run finishes, and a report with a target date for each remaining priority
  • Weekly checks afterwards, and AI written descriptions for the images you add later

Not included

  • Anything inside another app’s widget, such as reviews, chat or popups. The report names the app and what to ask its support
  • Video captions, PDFs and your checkout
  • Judgement calls only you can make, such as what a photo is meant to say
  • A theme Shopify does not let apps edit, such as one edited in its Canvas editor. The app says so on its first screen
  • Legal representation, or a promise that the claim ends. No tool can promise that

How it works

Four steps, no calls.

  1. Run the free scan

Above, with no signup. It shows which issues your store has, page by page, and which ones the app can fix.

  2. Install AccessComply and start the trial

From the Shopify App Store. Choose Shield on Shopify’s plan page: $79 a month after a 14 day free trial, billed through Shopify. You can cancel in Shopify at any time.

  3. Press one button

The app’s Home page shows how many issues it can fix. Press the button, or see each change first. It writes the fixes the same day and checks every page again.

  4. Keep the record

When the run finishes, an email brings the dated record of every fix. Share it with your lawyer or developer.

Questions

What owners ask before they start.

Will this end the demand letter or the lawsuit?
No product can promise that, and we do not. What the app does is fix the issues an automated check can find, in your theme code, and keep a dated record of the work, which is what lawyers on both sides usually ask about. A person testing with a screen reader and a keyboard can still find things no scan does.
Is this an accessibility widget or overlay?
No. An overlay adds a script on top of the page and leaves your theme as it was. The app changes the theme code itself, where a developer would, after you approve the changes.
What does it cost, and how do I pay?
Shield is $79 a month after a 14 day free trial, or yearly at a discount. Shopify bills it with your store’s invoice and shows the exact amount before you approve, so there is no separate invoice and no card details to give us.
Can I cancel?
Yes, in Shopify, at any time. The fixes stay in your theme, because they are your theme code.
Do I need to do anything technical?
No. You press one button; the app writes, checks and records each fix. You only decide what a scan cannot, such as what a photo is meant to say.
Can I do it on a smaller plan?
Yes. The free plan fixes 3 issues every 30 days, and Starter at $29 a month fixes everything the rules can. Shield adds the AI written image descriptions and labels.
Can we talk on the phone?
We work by email only, at [email protected], so every answer you get is in writing and you can forward it to your lawyer or developer.
