WCAG compliance checker
WCAG 2.2 is the standard behind the ADA cases in the US, the European Accessibility Act, the UK Equality Act guidance, Canada’s AODA and Australia’s DDA. This check runs the automatable success criteria on your live store and maps every finding to its criterion.
What the check covers
- WCAG 2.2 AA checks with the axe-core engine on your live pages — images without descriptions, low contrast, unlabeled form fields, missing headings, keyboard traps, focus that disappears.
- The product pages, collections and cart a shopper actually uses, on desktop and phone layouts, not just the home page.
- Search and speed findings alongside: titles and descriptions search engines read, images that load late or heavy.
- A specific fix for every finding, written for the theme you use — and for Shopify stores, the fix applied in your theme with your approval, the original saved first.

- WCAG 2.2 (W3C, October 2023; the benchmark regulators cite in 2026) adds nine criteria to 2.1 — among them focus not obscured, target size minimum, and consistent help — all of which the check measures.
- Australia’s DDA is complaint-driven and the Australian Human Rights Commission points to WCAG 2.2 AA; UK public bodies must meet WCAG 2.2 AA and private sites are held to the Equality Act with the same benchmark in practice.
- Automated tools detect roughly a third of criteria fully and flag several more for review; the report tells you which is which.
What you get
- A score per area and the list of findings grouped by cause, so "one faint footer link on 37 pages" is one row and one change.
- A PDF report you can hand to a developer or an agency, with the exact element and page for each finding.
- On Shopify: install the app to apply the fixes — the free plan includes 3 scans a month and 3 fixes every 30 days, no card.
