Consistent Help
When help mechanisms (contact, FAQ, chat, self-help, human help) are repeated across multiple pages, they appear in the same relative order on each page.
What it requires
WCAG 2.2 SC 3.2.6 is the help-channel sibling of 3.2.3. Storefronts that surface a chat launcher, contact link, and FAQ link should keep them in the same relative order across every page where they appear. Switching the order between header, footer, and side panel between pages forces users to relocate them every time.
The criterion does not require help to appear on every page — only that wherever it does appear, the order is consistent.
Common Shopify failure
Chat launcher in the bottom-right on home and product pages but in the top-right on the cart page. "Contact us" link in the footer left column on home but right column on collection pages.
How to fix it
AccessComply maps help-mechanism positions across rendered pages and flags divergence for theme-source correction.
